Our Authentic Dark is a stunning oak board, with knots and brushed grain highlighting the natural characteristics of the oak floor, this engineered oak flooring is at home in both classically styled interiors and more modern schemes.

This fabulous new, darker oak flooring, is hand-antiqued using a rustic selection of oak known for its attractive knots and splits. Each hand aging method accentuates these natural characteristics within this oak engineered flooring and the aged appearance is further enhanced by the hand bevelled, distressed edges. Authentic Dark has been lightly smoked, UV oiled and lovingly handshaved & hand chiselled to create a rich mid-latte coloured oak floor and a gorgeous textured finish with strong indentations. This superb oak flooring goes through varied handworking processes to produce an extremely rugged yet beautiful wood floor. Each plank is very lightly fumed adding a depth of hue to this darker coloured oak. Next a very light whitewash is applied that settles only in the deepest grain, subtly highlighting not drowning this wonderful oak. Those looking for medium to dark wood floors that will stay in vogue as long as the solid timber look lasts (which is basically forever) cannot go far wrong here. This antiqued oak flooring would look perfect in a classic country kitchen and just as fabulous in a minimalist modern living space.

Design Tip: For those who desire a contrasting scheme consider lighter paint shades like Rolling Fog-Light, Clay-Pale or Joanna to infuse a stark, dramatic contrast to the flooring. All paint colous are by Little Greene.

Authentic Dark oak floor is available in 1.5cm (15mm) thick engineered boards, 220cm in length and 22cm wide (2200mm x 220mm). This engineered wood flooring has individually distressed & antiqued edges and fits together via tongue & groove. More installation information can be found under the specification tab. this is a 15mm thick engineered oak flooring with a 11mm ply back and 4mm solid oak surface.

Our Authetic Dark is also available in a large format Herringbone option, produced & aged in the exact same manner as the plank format. At £49sqm+VAT and delivery, this dynamic parquet style floor is a stylish & affordable option. Minimum order quantity on Authentic Dark Herringbone is 15boxes (13.5sqm). NB: Herringbone floors must be glued to the sub-floor, they cannot be 'floated'.
